Meet the Crew in Aiken...Caitlin Silliman
Caitlin Silliman
Caitlin is Windurra's longest serving soldier, working with Silva and I for nearly three years. Caitlin did her first couple of years learning the art of dressage with Silva, and then switched over to the event barn mid-2010 to work with the event horses.
Caitlin's official role is assistant rider/super groom/organizer and happy smiley face around the barn. She was Remington's groom for the two-week French Four-Star tour to Pau last year. I am lucky to have a girl that is super organized, very hard working and a top rider all in one. Not only does she take a key position in the barn, she is currently starring as girlfriend of Australian Love God Ryan Wood.
Caitlin has two horses in Aiken this year: Hoku, an intermediate mare that is aiming for a two-star in the Spring, and Ben, a young horse that looks very promising and should be competing at training level in a couple of starts. We have very high expectations for both of these horses this year and are excited about their future.
I want to wish Caitlin all the best with her horses and thank her for her hard work in Aiken this year, and I truly hope that "training with us for a year before college" lasts longer and longer.

Silva and Devon On the Road to Orlando
Devon and I are on the road again, on our way to Orlando, Florida for our first show of the season. We have Aesthete, Rosa Cha, Constantina, Duvent and Rembrandt on the trailer and it's getting warmer as we go South!
I am excited to ride Aesthete ("Stately") for the first time at a show, going third level on Saturday and Sunday. I am also looking forward to showing Duvent for the first time this season - he was a bit of a wild man when he first started showing but now he is more confident and settled. He is also doing third level.
Rosa Cha has been working very well at home and she is starting first level. I am also very excited to ride little Constantina, (Cece), who is Duvent's little sister. She came to us to be broken in last summer and she has only done one Materiale class and is now starting her competition career under saddle. Cece is going in the training level this weekend.
Devon and Rembrandt have been working very well together this winter and are showing second and third level this weekend.

Meet the Crew in Aiken
One of the faces that is behind the scene at the Aiken farm this year is my assistant rider/ chief organizer/ groom Lillian 'not sure about that Boyd' Heard. Lillian has been one of my partners in crime for the last two years. She is one of America's top young advanced riders that is aiming her horse 'Whitey' at a couple of three stars or maybe a four star this year.
Share Option "Whitey" (From jaqheardpics on Flickr)
I must say, Lillian and I are polar opposites, which is probably why we have tolerated each other for so long. She is always questioning my great ideas, and then when they work out she claims that she is the brains of the operation! She is extremely neat and organized, loves sticking to a schedule, and is a successful college graduate! All things that have strayed from me in my life....
"Ariel" (From jaqheardpics on Flickr)
All jokes aside, Lillian is a fantastic part of the team. She is a hard worker, a great rider and she loves the horses. I could not survive without her. I wish her all the best these next couple of months as we endure yet another Aiken experience together. She has two horses here this year, in 'Share Option' and 'Ariel' that both are top notch. Both Silva and I look forward to being part of Lillian's future success.

Event Horses Arrive in Aiken
After watching the precious dressage horses prance off to Aiken last week, the event horses finally found the sun in Aiken, arriving yesterday at Ilene Boorman's beautiful farm. All the horses looked like they shipped well to South Carolina.
Our first eventing start is next weekend at Pine Top Horse Trials in Thomson, Georgia. We have a few new faces in the barn that look promising. It is shaping up to be a very exciting year, with some very nice looking horses that are just oozing with class!
We also have a new member to our crew: Lindsay Taylor, professional groom extraordinaire. Lindsay has learned finesse and attention to detail through working at Becky Holder's barn in the last year or two, and I wish her all the best as she brings her talents to our crew.
