Another Great Stadium Training Day!!

Many thanks again to all the great riders, trainers, volunteers and supporters who came out to our 2nd Training Stadium Day at Windurra yesterday!  Once again it was a huge success with over 190 rounds jumped throughout the day.

Everyone chipped in to make sure the day ran smoothly:  Sara organizing all the rider registrations, Stevie manned the ingate, Beau anchored the jump crew and longtime friend and owner Amy Lindgren supplied sandwiches and snacks throughout the day.  All proceeds from the refreshment stand were also generously donated to Plantation Field, so thank you Amy!!

Fabulous Weekend at Fitch's Corner

Pancho Villa Won OP-A at Fitch's Corner

It was a great weekend for Team Windurra at Fitch’sCorner Horse Trials in Millbrook, NY. Farm owners Fernanda Kellogg and Kirk Henckel put on a gorgeous celebration of the 20th anniversary of the event, with a party Saturday night that saw a few stragglers by the pool in the wee hours, and a Sunday luncheon where the ladies’ hats rivaled the races at Ascot. An outstanding trade fair, Fitch’s Market, and a parade of rare antique cars rounded out the fun for spectators at one of the most elegant events in the country, all geared toward showcasing the lower levels of eventing.
Pancho and Boyd Receive Congratulations from Fernanda

In addition to having an ambulance dedicated in her honor by the Millbrook Rescue Squad, which is the beneficiary of the horse trials, Fernanda and her husband Kirk were rewarded for their efforts when Pancho Villa won Open Preliminary A on his dressage score of 20. The couple is members of the Pancho Villa Syndicate, but Fernanda confided that Kirk, who shares Pancho’s Texas roots, claims this horse as his own.

Silva and Katie Walker, of Plantation Field, enjoyed a little shopping and a lot of ice cream, and watched a few horses go as well….Katie was also taking notes for how to make her awesome event at Plantation Field even bigger and better.

Caitlin, who is super excited to have recently been awarded a Land Rover grant to compete at Boekelo (NED) along with Boyd this fall, took a couple of the youngsters around the course. Brewster, owned by Katie and Cuyler Walker, finished 8th in the same Prelim division as Pancho.  HH Lancaster, owned Ron and Densey Juvonen and Art and Justina Dodge, won his division of Training level on a 21.4.
