Barn Fire at True Prospect Farm

As many of you have already heard thanks to excellent reporting from John Thier at EventingNation.com and the folks at PRO, last night there was a barn fire at True Prospect Farm.

Six horses were lost in the fire: Call Me Ollie, Charla, Ariel, Phantom Pursuit, Cagney Herself, and Summer Breeze.

Currently undergoing treatment at New Bolton Center are Neville Bardos, Otis Barbotiere, Catch a Star and Ambassador's Rose.

Lillian, Caitlin and Ryan were treated and released from Jennersville Hospital.

Obviously this is a difficult time, and our deepest condolences go out to everyone connected with these horses. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers and all of the messages and well wishes that we have been receiving from the eventing community. We will keep you updated as we receive more information.

    My deepest condolences to everyone involved. This is such a tragedy -- and every horse owner's worst nightmare. I wish you all the very best as you recover and move forward. Know that there are so many folks out here that you don't know personally who are praying for you as you heal.

    Boyd, Silva and company.
    Our hearts are breaking here in VA. I can't even begin to imagine the sense of loss you are all feeling right now, but please know that you are ALL in our thoughts and prayers. We will continue to pray for the recovery of the 5 beautiful horses that were saved and pray for the ones who left us to wait at the Rainbow Bridge until we all meet there again one day.

    i'm very sorry for your loss. my friends at Oasis Farms in Ohio also had a barn fire (they lost 23 of 35 horse). i can truly understand what youre going through right now as i was close to my friends horses. youll be in my prayers

    Words can never express sympathy adequately...but thoughts and prayers do help which go out to everyone involved. I was sickened as everyone was to learn of this tragedy. I praise the heroic efforts of Lillian, Caitlin, and Ryan to save the horses that they could. So many people are with you during this extremely difficult time.

    There are no words that can ease your pain at this tragic time but please know that you, Silva & the True Prospect Farm family are in our thoughts and prayers.     I've never met anyone involved in this tragedy yet there are tears every time I read an update. My horse has been getting a lot of hugs. Holding everyone in love.

    As the breeder of Charla I read the news story posted by USEA holding my breath and hoping I would not find her name. It is every breeders dream to create a horse who will go on to great success in the competitive world and I was so proud that Charla and Boyd had found a partnership. It seems that fate has dealt a cruel hand again and as with my loss of Le Samurai I will grieve greatly for the loss of the little red mare.

    I am so very sorry for the losses suffered in this tragic fire. Sadly, I have been through a similar incident and know how badly everyone is hurting. May God bless those dear horses that were lost, and heal those who are hurting physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
