Boyd and "Oscar", owned by the Trading Aces Syndicate LLC, moved up from 8th after dressage to third after show jumping in the CIC3* at Plantation Field today. After receiving some criticism for running the horse so soon after the WEG Boyd was pleased that Oscar felt fit and sound. He ran double clear and is currently on a score of 51.3. Tomorrow they will take on the cross-country course designed by Mike Etherington-Smith and built by Eric Bull and his team at ETB Equine Construction
Several of Boyd's three-star horses were clear and in the time: Lucy Boynton's Crackerjack is placed 6th on 53.7, and Steady Eddie, owned by George and Gretchen Wintersteen, Denise Lahey and Pierre Colin, is tenth with 55.5. Pancho Villa, owned by the Pancho Villa Syndicate, knocked one rail and is standing 20th with 60.7 and Stephen Blauner's young Master Frisky is 34th with 8 jumping and 4 time faults.

Plantation Field International 3-Day Preview
The Plantation Field International three-day event this weekend promises to be a very exciting
event. It looks bigger and better than ever. With the new course designer, Mike
E-S, on board, I’m sure the riders will see a big, bold and intimidating track on
Sunday’s cross-country. I am personally riding a very classy group of
intermediate and advanced horses in the CIC divisions. For the majority of these horses it will be their first attempt at this level and my main objective will be completion,
so that they are qualified for their fall three-day events.
In its sixth year, the event is going from strength to
strength. It’s one of the most picturesque venues on the eventing circuit and the
arenas are world-class with synthetic footing. Katie Walker has also put in a
detailed social schedule for the riders, owners and sponsors to be involved
every evening.
For me personally I’m trying to get all the horses prepared and
experienced at this level. Depending on how green they are and how they’re traveling
I’ll decide whether to try to have a crack at winning their classes. Obviously
it’s one of my favorite events of the year and I look forward to seeing all the
spectators out there cheering us on.

SBF Cortez |
Cortez is a homebred and this is his first attempt at the two-star. He’s a green 7-year-old and oozes class. I’m
hoping to give him a nice round to build his confidence as he’s new to this
level.
Welcome Shadow at the Carolina International. Cindy Lawler photo |
Shadow is a beautiful imported Irish Sport Horse; she's a fancy mover and has got a cracking jump. Like Cortez this is her first attempt at
this level so I’ll be looking to get her around successfully.

Oscar is looking great after returning home from a
disappointing WEG outing. He looks fit as a fiddle and well as a bell and I’m
looking forward to hopping on him again and giving him a nice ride and getting
him back on track. This is our first competition together since we won Red
Hills this spring.
Crackerjack, owned by Lucy Boynton
This will be my first CIC*** on Crackers. (Phillip rode him
in one while I had a broken leg). He’s a cross-country machine so I’m confident
he will jump around this course with ease as long as I can contain his
enthusiasm.
Pancho Villa at Fair Hill. Amber Heintzberger Photo |
Pancho is currently for sale. He’s a top quality horse who should do an outstanding dressage test and rocket around the cross-country and show
jumping. I believe this is his first CIC***.
Steady Eddie at Carolina International. Allie Conrad photo |
"The Eagle" was sensational at Five Points, winning his
division, but this will be a much more difficult and technical question for
him. He’s a wonderful galloper, so I hope the terrain will suit him well. Again
it’s his first time at the CIC*** level.

Brewster was born and bred at Bruce Davidson's Chesterland farm in Pennsylvania in 2007. I was riding and training Rock On Rose for Bruce at the time, and a grey gelding always caught my eye when I was there. He had an athletic look, presence and some serious movement.
I tried him as a three year old, and nearly fell off him.
I was lucky enough to have Katie and Cuyler Walker purchase the horse, and put him into training in the fall of 2010.
Katie and Cuyler are serious equine enthusiasts and supporters of Windurra USA. They have a barn full of very impressive Cheshire foxhunters and they are also the land owners and event organizers of the Plantation Field International Horse Trials.

Brewster is an exceptionally bred young horse who has a lovely temperament and would be well suited to both an amateur or a professional.

Caitlin and I showed a number of horses at Seneca Valley Pony Club Horse Trials in Maryland this past weekend. We’ve got a very impressive group of young up and coming horses. One of these is SBF Eowyn, who came second in her first event at training level. She’s on the market and is a top-class horse that’s very affordable.Crackerjack had a nice quiet outing before the CIC*** at

Rosa Cha W is Back! VADA/Nova Dressage at Morven Park
Rosa Cha W |
First of all I would like to thank my two amazing new girls, Jerusha (the new lady in charge at my barn) and Jessie. They made the show run so smoothly and the horses looked amazing and were very well taken care of. Secondly of course we stayed with Melinda Walton and Larry Smith. It's like a vacation for us to stay at their beautiful farm, Melinda and Larry are pampering us every time we come!
My very good friend Amy Heron came with us this weekend to help, and I loved having her there. I have amazing friends that support me and she is one of them; another one is Cheryl Griffith, who drove all the way to the show on Saturday to be there for Rosa's and my first show back together. Amazing. And of course my husband Bod and my girlfriends Kate Hicks and Mary Griffin are on the phone as soon as I leave the ring to make sure I am okay. The Rosa Cha syndicate members have all been fantastic, too. I am a lucky girl!!
It feels so great to be back! Now that I showed Rosa Cha again it really feels like it, too! To me it feels like it has been a huge amount of time recovering from my accident . It really has not been that long - six months now - and I feel like I am getting stronger and stronger every day now, and most importantly, I will be back to the same level of performance. There are a lot of ups and downs in recovery, but you have to look forward and make happen what you want to make happen. Nobody can do that for you.
Rosa Cha and I have a strong relationship because I have had her all her life and Boyd and I started her as a baby. She was so amazing for me this weekend. We won the PSG on Saturday with 71%. I was very proud of that because it was a fairly big class and we had some good competition. Second was JJ Tate, who is one of my favorite riders around and an amazing competitor. She was truly so happy for me that day and I'm very grateful. The next day she got me, though! She won the I-1 with 70% and I was second with 68.9%. JJ deserves every bit of that win and coming second to her is an honor.
Of course I showed two of my favorite horses, Benefactor RRS and Danka Shoene RRS, owned and bred by Melinda and Larry. Benny was a superstar, winning both second level test 3 classes with 73% and 77%. Danka Shoene was better then ever (I know it's hard to believe) . He scored 74% in training level test 3 to finish third.
If anybody is looking for a very special partner, he is your horse!!
Our "barn mom" Pam Murphy rode her perfect Rio Royal!! They looked so beautiful together and won the first test with 71%. In the second test Rio was a little tense because the wind had picked up and the tents were flapping but they still did a very nice test to win the amateur division. Now we have to work on polishing those two up before the regional championships in NC.
Jessie rode Min in training level on Saturday to take home a blue and on Sunday, Thayer also cleaned up in first level!! Jessie is a very talented young rider and I will make her into a experienced rider in no time.
I also took Estival to Morven Park . I only schooled him there to ride him some where else before Devon.
He really is very special horse with so much talent! His owner Kirsten Jepp came to watch us work, which was so nice. Kirsten is also from Germany and it is nice for me to speak German with her. I have big hopes for him to have a lot of success at Devon in the 3-year-old class!
Thanks to all of my friends and supporters for making this all possible, with a special shout-out to Devon, who's keeping everything in order back home. I couldn't do this without her - I know that the farm is in good hands while I'm away, with Devon looking after things. Thank you Devon!
