Dressage at Fair Hill

Devon, Kymmy and Silva had a successful weekend at Dressage at Fair Hill:

Kymmy and Markie moved up to do their first PSG and they did well. On Saturday they finished third and on Sunday fourth. It was very good for the first time at this level - they have come such a long way!

Devon had Ballatale in Third level tests 2 and 3. She had good tests with a few little mistakes, scoring 63% in both classes and finsihing third in both.

I was riding Sea Lord, owned by Charish Campbell, and Duvent, owned by Melinda Walton and Larry Smith. Sea Lord moved up to Intermediaire II and I was very pleased with him both days. We still have a lot of work to do, but he did so well for his first time at this level. We won on both days with 65% - not too bad for the "old race horse"! We will be doing our first Grand Prix soon.

Duvent moved up to Prix St. George: he has also come such a long way since I have been riding him. He got a little excited about the new test on Saturday and we finished fourth with 61%. On Sunday he was much much better and we finished second on 65%.

I would like to say again that I am just blown away by the generosity of all the people around us. Dressage at Fair Hill and Bit of Britain were selling raffle tickets to raise money for the fire relief fund. I cannot thank everybody enough for what they are doing to help us get through this tough time! THANK YOU!!!!!

The Sweet Taste of Victory at Plantation Field Horse Trials

Photo of Crackerjack by Dr Steve Berkowitz

I took full advantage of all of the top riders being away in Bromont, and rocked around the Plantation Field Horse Trials on four 'all class' young, up and coming horses. After a tough week of dealing with the fire tragedy aftermath, it was great jumping around one of America's best horse trials.

I had great results on all horses, and more importantly felt that all my trusty steads are gaining education, experience and exposure with all of these eventing outings.

Crackerjack, owned by Colin Davidson & Lucy Boynton, 1st Open Preliminary
Steady Eddie, owned by George & Gretchen Wintersteen and Denise Lahey & Pierre Colin, 5th Open Preliminary
Drummond, owned by Cuyler & Katie Walker, 1st Open Novice
Brewster, owned by Cuyler & Katie Walker, 6th Open Novice

Tomorrow I look forward to getting out to the first ever Plantation Cross-Country Schooling day, from which the proceeds will be contributed to the True Prospect Fire Fund. Many thanks to Cuyler and Katie Walker, who own Plantation Field and helped organize the fundraiser.
