The Fork CIC***

Team Windurra weathered the first day of competition at The Fork CIC in North Carolina in good form, with Caitlin and Remington XXV leading the CIC2*. Boyd and Crackerjack are sitting 7th in Advanced Test A, with Master Frisky tied for 9th in the same division. Steady Eddie is tied for 4th in Intermediate-A. The skies are clearing and it looks to be a good weekend of eventing - check in later for more updates from the heart of the action! Remember that the CIC3* will be run with cross-country on SUNDAY, with riders running in reverse order of standing.

Pancho Villa's Arrival

I married well...

I'm very proud to announce that Pancho Villa arrived after a grueling four-day trek from Louisiana to Pennsylvania. He showed up at midnight on Monday evening, which was only a few hours prior to Lindso, Caitlin, Beau and me departing for The Fork Horse Trials in North Carolina.

After two days of hacking, Silva decided to have a ride on the new horse. (Unfortunately, the English/German translation for Pancho was mistaken for "Banjo", as you will see on the YouTube video).

This must be one of the first times Silva has reported back to me saying I have selected a horse that has real talent for the dressage. The video above is Pancho's first dressage ride in probably over a week. As you can see, he went straight to work.

I'm very excited to get home from The Fork to get started with this very new, talented, AMERICAN-BRED Advanced Selle Francais gelding.

Update: Fortissimo B Video

I am so pleased with how wonderfully Fonzy, (Fortissimo B), is coming along in his training. He is such an amazing young horse -- anybody that wants to become a big-time rider and is in search for the right horse to go up the levels with, give me a call!

SBF Balboa "Rocky" Available For Sale

NAME: SBF Balboa
SEX: Gelding
COLOR: Bay
HEIGHT: 15.3hh

DOB: June 19, 2006
SIRE: Juventus (Dutch Warmblood by Dublin)
DAM: Single ‘N Savy (Thoroughbred)
BREED: Registered Dutch Warmblood with KWPN (840025 200600346)
BREEDER: Stony Brook Farm
PLACE OF BIRTH: Peterborough, NH
OWNER: Stony Brook Farm

SBF Balboa, also known as Rocky, is the ideal horse for a young rider or adult amateur looking to be extremely competitive in whatever event they enter. He is unbelievably well-bred, fathered by the Dutch super sire, Juventus. He is a lovely, soft mover and is extremely rideable and trainable for the dressage; he rarely places out of the top three in the dressage, usually with scores in the low 20's. He is a scopey, careful jumper partnered with a lovely gallop that only needs to be ridden in the softest of snaffles.

Currently ranked on the USEA Leaderboard for Novice Horse of the Year, he has already moved up to Training at Pine Top, one of the more challenging Training level events in the South. Ridden by Caitlin Silliman, he received a 26.8 in dressage, putting him in third place two points off the lead, and he jumped around cross-country with ease.

In his two-year career he has had 5 first place ribbons and numerous other ribbons within the top 5. This is a great opportunity to purchase a very special horse that will bring you up the levels of eventing while winning! Rarely does a horse of this quality get offered for sale. Don't miss this opportunity.

Call Boyd to come for a trial at our facility in Pennsylvania, 610-806-2381.

Boyd's Video Favorites: Boxer Manny Pacquiao

It's obviously nothing to do with equestrian sports, but here’s an awesome video of one of the greatest sportsmen of our era, Manny Pacquiao, in training for one of his legendary bouts

A Big Thank You to Fernanda Kellogg, Kirk Henckels and Ilene Boorman

FoxFrolic Farm
We have both now relocated to the farm in Cochranville, PA after a great winter in Aiken and Wellington. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Kirk Henckels and Fernanda Kellogg, the owners of FoxFrolic Farm  for housing Silva’s horses and providing accommodation to Boyd and Silva throughout the winter.

Bridle Creek Farm
Also a big thank you to Ilene Boorman the owner of Bridle Creek Farm, the magnificent facilty that the event horses stayed at once again. With the caliber of horses that we now have in training it is essential that we have top-notch facilities  and both of these farms provide spectacular accommodations for the horses as well as superb footing on which to train.

Boyd and Silva are now available for lessons in Cochranville. Silva’s lessons are $150 (610-806-2721) and Boyd’s are $100 (610-806-2381). Lessons can be arranged by text message.
