PSG at Dressage Derby

Thanks to student Debbie Stanitski for snapping this photo of Rosa this morning!

Stately (Aesthete was a star yesterday and scored 70.816% in the PSG at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby. It was his best test yet! Rosa went first thing this morning and scored 69.211%.

There are still about 14 horses to go, but currently that puts both horses in the top ten in a big, competitive class. More updates later!

Masterclass Coming Up Soon

Phillip and I have always toyed with the idea of doing a Masterclass and we have a fantastic opportunity to pull it off with the use of the indoor arena here at our winter base, Stable View. We're also lucky enough to be in Aiken in the midst of numerous eventing fans, so we feel like now is the time to pull it off.

Dom Schramm will be the host of the evening and will be going around with a microphone doing the Q and A with the crowd. We're still figuring out the formant but some of the stars from our barn will be in the production, including Neville, Shamwari, Icabad and Mr Medicoot.

Phillip and I are hoping to give people insight into how we train horses at all levels. It should be a fun evening and all the money will go to charity, with Stable View matching whatever we earn and donating as well.

Entry $25 at the door, $10 for kids and Young Riders. Hope to see you there.

Kicking Off the 2015 Palm Beach Dressage Derby

Rosa and Stately passed the jog at the Palm Beach Derby. After the jog I had two lessons with Debbie McDonald; I was very happy with both horses and so was Debbie. Since the Prix St. George is a huge class again they had to split it into two days, so Stately will go today at 3:53pm and Rosa will go at 8:08 tomorrow morning. The top 30 finishers in the PSG will do the Intermediare 1 on Saturday and the top 15 from that class will do the freestyle on Sunday.

Also I'm thrilled to have won the best dressed award in the jog! Thanks to my friend Michelle Folden for the beautiful top that she gave me as a birthday present and to Show Chic for sponsoring the award.

Welcome Back to White Fences 2015

Lance
We had a good show weekend at Welcome back to White Fences. I started the show off with Elaine and Bruce Warner's Sir Lancelot in third level . What a cool guy he is !! He won his class with 70.38% .

My next horse was my long time friend Melinda Walton and Larry Smith's Benefactor RRS. This was only his third third level and he is barely seven years old . He was second with 70.28%. He now has never scored under 70% in third level!!
Benny

It was a rainy and wet Saturday but the horses wrere troopers. Next was Gloria Callen and Anne Laver's Bright Side. Eddy is a great horse but such a baby still. He made some unfortunate mistakes in his first level test but still scored 67%. I rode Kirsten Jepp's fabulous young horse Estival Star in his only second training level show next. He is a very fancy 4-year-old and such a good boy! He won with 70%.

On Sunday I rode Bonnie Stedt's Zoran in his second Intermediare 1. He was still a little green at that level but we finished second on 67%. Last but surely not least I rode Rosa Cha's daughter ,Sara Reese and Joan Fenton's Hannah Lu W, in training level. She was such a good girl and she feels more and more like her mother. We finished second in the class!! VIDEO

First-Rate Gallops at Will Faudree's Farm

Master Frisky

We shipped up to Will Faudree's Gavilan Farm in Southern Pines, NC last week and made us of his new gallops with footing by Attwood Equestrian Surfaces. Will just recently put in this fantastic new gallop and it's an incredible mile and 1/8 resistance gallop that is completely uphill, with unparalleled Attwood Pinnacle footing. It was well worth the drive to put the four-star horses through the work of going up three times on this amazing footing. The Attwood Pinnacle consists of sand that has been coated with polymer and mixed with a variety of  fibers. It gives great cushion and galloping up it felt like the horses were hardly touching the ground. One of the biggest headaches we've encountered in preparing the horses for Rolex is keeping them sound due to the intense amount of work it takes to keep them fit, and I'd like to thank Will and Attwood for allowing us to use this gallop to aid in our preparations.
