The cross-country course is ready for action! Thanks to Eric Bull for sharing this photo! |
This weekend the Fitch’s Corner Horse Trials will take place in the
beautiful setting of
Fernanda Kellogg
and Kirk Henckel’s beautiful property in Millbrook, NY. Without a question this is the premiere
lower-level event in the country. I like to think of it as the Rolex of novice-preliminary levels! The courses are designed by Derek diGrazia and built by Eric Bull, and the show
jumping and dressage arenas are world-class, with show jumps that were used at the Atlanta
Olympics. On top of this the event has a fantastic schedule filled with with luncheons, a
fabulous trade fair and a vintage car show come Sunday.
I’m riding six horses this weekend: three in the prelim and
three in the novice. Apparently Millbrook has had a good amount of rain, so the
conditions should be perfect.
