Fighting Fit for Boekelo

Oscar’s all settled in here in Holland. After a hectic weekend at Morven Park, the pace over here has been quite relaxing, with Oscar only needing flat work once a day. Both Silva and David have been helping me and it seems like everything is in order for Oscar to put in a good test. He trotted up well today, and we have the first veterinary inspection tomorrow. It looks like I’m scheduled to ride last in the dressage for team USA, which should be Friday sometime.

Both Liz Halliday and Lauren Kieffer’s horses look in excellent condition. Overall it looks like an unbelievably competitive field of Olympic veterans on classy horseflesh. I feel like I’ve had a great preparation and I’m looking for a competitive result from Oscar.

Fabulous Young and Mature Dressage Horses For Sale

Danka Shoene RRS
image.jpeg
Shoene is a very special three-year-old gelding. A horse with his quality and more than anything with his temperament are only available very young. Shoene already impressed the judges at Dressage at Devon in hand and under saddle. If I did not know this was his first show I would have thought he has done it 100 times. This horse is going to be four years old and he is a true "Old Soul".
This is not surprising, knowing his family. Shoene is out of Heidekleid RRS who is also the dam of Benefactor RRS and Duvent.
Benefactor is currently fifth in the America as a five year old, and Duvent, who is also out of Heidekleid, has just won fourth level at Dressage at Devon.
Heidekleid also produced Constantina RRS, Coquette RRS and Cisco RRS who are all very high quality horses ridden by amateurs. This young gelding is a real catch with a big future!!

Oscar Ready for Takeoff

I am writing you from the gate at JFK Airport, waiting to board the plane to Amsterdam. Oscar is settled into his shipping container and is ready for takeoff.

We arrived at JFK around 11am in time for Oscar to enter his quarantine stall where he was monitored for several hours and checked by the vet before getting a clean bill of health to be loaded into the plane.

I just left the vet port after putting Oscar into his shipping container, which is now being loaded onto the plane.

Our flight is scheduled to depart at 10:55 pm tonight. We will land in Amsterdam at 12:00 pm local time tomorrow, which is 6:00 am eastern time. I will continue to keep you posted as we arrive in Holland and get settled in at Boekelo. We are looking forward to a great week ahead!

My wonderful sponsor Kymberly McConnell from Middy N Me makes the most beautiful, classy shirts for riding or casual wear. I love every single style she makes, and the shirts are very comfortable. I also love the Middy N Me show shirts and stock ties; everywhere show I have been getting compliments about these shirts!

Her dresses are also amazing -- they are a great option for FEI jogs or a stylish choice for any cocktail party.
