A Decade of Four Star Rides!

We recently embarked on an interesting project, gathering information on Boyd's Four Star rides, which have spanned the last decade!  What a nostalgic experience to reflect on the horses that he has run at the 4* level, as many of these earlier partners weren't predictable upper level event horses.

We hope you enjoy reading about Boyd's Four Star rides at Adelaide in Australia.  Get to know all of these horses, including Flying Doctor, a $1200 pony club horse who placed 5th in 2000......Winston, who gave up down lessons in between competitions......and True Blue Toozac, who won Adelaide in 2003 and gave Boyd "my finest moment in my eventing career" to date!

Starburst Sold Today!

Nancy Mark's 'Starburst' was sold today to a young rider from texas. Maya, as she was known in the barn, was only with us for a couple of weeks. She is a nice mare that has great movement and a solid jump. I only took it to one show which was last weekend at Surefire, where I rode her in the Training. She made me look like a bit of a dill when I fell asleep on her at the second last x-c fence on her and she popped in a stop!

I would like to thank Nancy for placing her with us and wish the new rider all of the best!

Bouncer Sold

Jackie Gilbertson's 'Bouncer' was sold this week to a local Young Rider. The Irish gelding was with us for a bit over a month, and most of his training and competing was done by one of our assistant riders, Caitlin Silliman. We would like to thank Jackie for placing 'Bouncer' with us, and for giving Caitlin an opportunity to compete and market her horse.

A big thanks must also go out to Unionville's up and coming eventing standout Erin Sylvester for placing the horse with one of her students. Erin not only looks to be one of the US best young advanced riders, but also a masterful coach for all of the youngsters in the community.

London Venture is High Score Champion at Dressage at Heavenly Waters

Silva took two horses to Dressage at Heavenly Waters in Bel Air, Maryland over the weekend. Here's an update:

I took London Venture (pictured above), owned by Lysa Clemens, to his first dressage show. He was a star and was very easy to deal with at the show. He is also a real competitor.He loved being in the show atmosphere and he felt great in the ring. We won first level test 4 on 72% and got High Score Champion of the show! Here's a video:

I also took Kristen and Andy Sparks's Ambassador Rose (pictured at above) to her first dressage show. Rose is just a pleasure to have around at the show. She must be the easiest horse to take along - she really is a good girl! She performed a good test and we finished fourth in a very big class. Rose is the perfect horse for somebody that wants to relax and have fun at the shows; you really do not have to worry about anything with her!

Saturday, June 19th 10 am – 5 pm

Groups of 4 – 5 riders of a similar level for 1 1/2 hours
